Clara White Mission presented its 20th Annual “Miracle On Ashley Street – Celebrity Servers Luncheon” fundraiser, on Friday May 23, 2014. The event was sponsored by Citi and WJXT TV-4. This year the Celebrity Servers Luncheon will benefit the “Job Training and Meal Programs for Homeless Veterans and Low Income”.
This year, $41,000.00 was raised for the Clara White Mission and 1350 people received nourishment during the lunch. That was $4000.00 more than last year’s totals. The weather was great and a good time was had by all. Don’t forget to look at the Slide Show and see what you missed.
There was a magnificent buffet that was served by local personalities & notable guests. Musical entertainment was rendered by the smooth jazz sound of “Akia Uwanda and Friends”. The emcee for the event was local meteorologist, Richard Nunn. Mayor Alvin Brown stopped by to show his support and have a little lunch.
When you take a look at the Slide Show, you will notice shots from “The White Harvest Farm” that supplies some of the vegetables for the Friday “Clara At the Cathedral’s” lunch program. You will also be able to see the great organization that is a trademark of Clara White Mission.
