This big kitty is lucky to be alive after being transported under the hood of a car in South Carolina, Facebook: PETS Inc. reported March 31.

Big Singe got her name after the Persian was abandoned in the parking lot of PETS Inc.-Carolina's Humane Society on Sunday. Apparently she was frightened to the point she took refuge under a car hood.

Two USC students, who had volunteered for the day, discovered Singe after investigating the odor of burning cat fur when they got back to the University. It's believed the cat had been abandoned by her previous owner.

While her fur suffered some major damage, it played a part in Big Singe not being injured any more than she was. She'll lose most of her coat, and will be fine physically. Her mental condition may leave Singe a bit insecure for awhile.

Big Singe has been tested for FIV/FeLV and is negative for both. Now the PETS Inc.-Carolina's Humane Society is looking for a foster or adopter for this precious cat.

If you can offer this miracle kitty a place to live, please contact them at 803-739-9333 or e-mail . Donations toward her care can be made online by clicking here.
