Mira Sorvio is hitting the small screen as Jim Gaffigan’s wife. The actress has been cast in the new sitcom featuring Gaffigan as a father of five, according to a Feb. 21 Yahoo TV News report.
The untitled Sony Television (in association with Fedora Entertainment) single-camera comedy is helmed by writers and executive producers Gaffigan and Peter Tolan. Also joining as executive producers are Alex Murray and Michael Wimer.
According to Deadline, the show is loosely based on Gaffigans’s life and is starting off very popular. It has already reported generated “interest from multiple networks before landing at CBS with a put pilot commitment.”
This is definitely not a stretch for Gaffigan who is a father of five in real life. “The Replacement Killers” star Sorvino will reportedly play an overachieving character called Jeannie, who happens to be a “super-wife and super-mom of five who has a sixth child in the form of her husband, Jim.”
