Indie alt-rockers Minus the Bear will bring the Waves Overhead Tour to Des Moines' East Village tomorrow night for a performance at Wooly's. Opening for MtB will be Rah Rah and Eighteen Individual Eyes. Tickets for the show are $18 in advance and $22 tomorrow night. Tickets may be purchased at the Wooly's box office or online through Ticketfly. This is an all ages concert event.
Minus the Bear has built a nationwide following from their home in Seattle, Washington to Tallahassee, Florida and around the world. Since the band's inception in 2001, their music has grown from a local cult following to a worldwide phenomenon. MtB's debut album Highly Refined Pirates didn't crack the charts, but it did gain them the exposure the band needed to be a growing success. Their follow-up album Menos el Oso cracked the Top 20 on the Heat chart and also charted on the Alternative chart.
From then on, it was all downhill for Minus the Bear. Their next three albums all went Top 10 on the Indie chart, and each successive album climbed higher than the last on the Alternative chart and the Billboard 200. The band's most recent album, Infinity Overhead, came out in August of last year. You can check out the latest single from the album, "Listing", in the video below.
