A Minot Airman was found unresponsive in his dorm yesterday, September 19, at approximately 3:20 p.m.
The Airman was identified but his name was not released pending notification of next-of-kin.
Initial reports say he was stationed with the 5th Bomb Wing, the primary mission of which is to maintain and operate B-52H bombers assigned to the 23d Bomb Squadron and the 69th Bomb Squadron.
It is not known if this Airman had previously been deployed.
According to Wikipedia, Minot AFB is one of two remaining bases maintaining the giant B-52s; the other is Barksdale AFB in Louisiana.
This is the second airman from Minot Air Force Base to be found dead in the month of September.
On Sept. 10, Technical Sergeant Christopher Summers was found dead in his home. Cause of death has not yet been determined.
