Marco Scandella capped the late game rally with a shot from the point that got through traffic and over the glover shoulder of Corey Crawford.
The Wild got the games first two goals, but surrendered the lead and fell behind early in the third period.
“There was a little bit of frustration for sure,” Zach Parise said. “They’re a team that doesn’t need a lot of chances. They were able to erase our two-goal lead pretty quickly.
“We didn’t go away from our game plan that had been working for us. So, we were able to get back into the game.”
The Wild snapped a six-game power play scoring draught with a pair of goals. Each unit tallied a goal.
Parise got the first goal on the man advantage on a rebound off a shot by Jason Pominville that hit Dany Heatley in front of the net. Jonas Brodin’s power play goal on a one-timer at the top of the circles off a pass from Jared Spurgeon.
“We were shooting,” Parise said. “Lately, we haven’t been moving it around as we had earlier. We talked about that before and talked about shooting. We need to get traffic at the net.
Mine was a rebound and (Brodin’s), I think, deflected off of their guy. So, a couple fortunate bounces for us, but we had a good shot mentality.”
The Wild (17-8-5) got on the board first at the 4:23 mark of the first period. Matt Cooke fired a wrist shot from the top of the circles over Crawford’s glove shoulder.
The Blackhawks (20-6-4) got their three goals in a six minute and 52 second span that began in late in the second period and continued through the beginning of the third.
