The Minnesota Wild have few roster spots with the emergence of their young stars. However, a few players still need to supplement the roster. The Wild enter the offseason with 14 unrestricted free agents and eight restricted free agents.

Here is unrestricted free agent Matt Moulson.

2013-14 Team(s): New York Islanders (NHL), Buffalo Sabres (NHL), Minnesota Wild (NHL)

2013-14 Statistics: 11 games played, 6 goals, 3 assists, 9 points, plus-3 rating, 6 penalty minutes, 5 power play goals, 28 shots on goal (New York); 44 games played, 11 goals, 18 assists, 29 points, minus-8 rating, 20 penalty minutes, 3 power play goals, 2 game-winning goals, 105 shots on goal (Buffalo); 20 games played, 6 goals, 7 assists, 13 points, plus-7 rating, 8 penalty minutes, 1 power play goal, 3 game-winning goals, 43 shots on goal (Minnesota-regular season); 10 games played, 1 goal, 2 assists, 3 points, 4 penalty minutes, 21 shots on goal (Minnesota-playoffs)

Outlook: Moulson is a goal scorer, but he never seemed to fit into the lineup. Head coach Mike Yeo moved him around the lineup, but could not find a consistent line and role for him.

He scored at least 30 goals in three straight seasons for the Islanders prior to the lockout shortened season of 2012-13. He is a sniper that scores around the net. He has the size to pose havoc on defensemen and goaltenders in front of the crease. Moulson deserves a lucrative contract this offseason, but it likely will come from somewhere other than Minnesota.
