The Minnesota Wild have few roster spots with the emergence of their young stars. However, a few players still need to supplement the roster. The Wild enter the offseason with 14 unrestricted free agents and eight restricted free agents.

Here is unrestricted free agent defenseman Clayton Stoner.

2013-14 Team(s): Minnesota Wild (NHL)

2013-14 Statistics: 63 games played, 1 goal, 4 assists, 5 points, minus-6 rating, 84 penalty minutes, 48 shots on goal (regular season); 13 games played, 1 goal, 2 assists, 3 points, plus-2 rating, 26 penalty minutes, 13 shots on goal (playoffs)

Outlook: Stoner stepped his game up in the playoffs. The Wild’s third round draft pick in 2004 has not become an offensive force (4 goals and 27 assists in 227 NHL games), but has been the most physically imposing player on the team’s blue line.

His physicality wore on the Colorado Avalanche and got into the minds of the Chicago Blackhawks. The intimidation factor Stoner brought during the playoffs makes him one of the top priorities for the Wild to re-sign this summer.
