Outlook: Evans entered the NFL with little expected from him after being selected in the seventh round of the 2006 draft out of Division 1-AA (now the Football Championship Series or FCS) Texas State University by the Miami Dolphins.

He impressed then-Dolphins head coach Cam Cameron and his football staff enough to make the team’s Week 1 roster.

However, his tenure with the Dolphins was cut short after getting arrested in Miami Beach in June the following offseason. He was released less than week after the arrest.

The Vikings decided to take a chance on the troubled defensive tackle and signed him a couple weeks later.

He has shown flashes in his seven-year NFL career, but nothing that leads you to believe he can be more than a reserve defensive lineman.

The Vikings may want to move on and look elsewhere as the team is re-building its defensive line.
