Outlook: The Vikings moved out of the first round of the 2010 draft and selected Cook very early in the second round.

He was the first player the Vikings selected in that draft. He came in with expectations of becoming a physical, shutdown type of cornerback.

He certainly had the size to be that guy. But, off-the-field issues and injuries have kept him from fulfilling those expectations.

Last season, he set career-highs for games played and tackles. However, for a starting cornerback in a pass happy league, the numbers are disappointing. To make matters worse for Cook, he has no interceptions, forced fumbles or fumble recoveries in his NFL career.

He has developed the bust label as a high draft pick that has not panned out. He has no ball skills and has become a liability in pass coverage.

The Vikings will not try to re-sign him. His tenure in Minnesota should become officially over when free agency begins on Tuesday.
