The Minnesota Vikings enjoyed a surprising 2012 season. The team enters the offseason with higher expectations and some decisions to make.
The decisions begin with its own free agents.
Here is fullback Jerome Felton.
Number: 42
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 246
College: Furman
Experience: 5 years
2012 Stats: 16 games played (seven starts) – 3 receptions – 35 receiving yards.
Career Stats: 42 carries - 136 rushing yards - 37 receptions - 315 receiving yards.
2013 Outlook: The statistics don't look good for him, but that is not why he was signed last offseason. He was signed to clear running lanes for Adrian Peterson. He did a pretty good job. Felton and the offensive line made clean blocks, which allowed Peterson to get to the second and third levels untouched. They also forced defenders to take bad angles and get out of position, which allowed Peterson to rack up so many yards after contact. Felton should be one of the top priorities among the Vikings' free agents this offseason. It would be shocking if he is not in a Viking uniform next season.
