The Minnesota Vikings enjoyed a surprising 2012 season. The team enters the offseason with higher expectations and some decisions to make.
The decisions begin with its own free agents.
Here is linebacker Erin Henderson.
Number: 50
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 244
College: Maryland
Experience: 4 years
2012 Stats: 14 games played (10 starts), 80 tackles, 3 sacks, 3 passes defensed, 1 forced fumble.
Career Stats: 50 games played (21 starts), 176 tackles, 4.5 sacks, 5 passes defensed, 4 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries.
2013 Outlook: The former Terrapin exceeded a lot of expectations for an undrafted rookie in 2008. He was an unrestricted free agent last offseason, but did not get the multi-year contract he was seeking. The Vikings re-signed him late in the summer. He posted career highs in total tackles, solo tackles, assisted tackles, sacks and passes defensed. However, he is in the same situation as Jasper Brinkley. Henderson has posted better numbers than Brinkley, but neither is considered an elite or high-end linebacker. The Vikings will most likely sign one (both is not out of the question), but with nothing guaranteed. The Vikings are going into the offseason looking to upgrade its linebacker group behind Chad Greenway.
