On a weekend that saw #1 Minnesota sweep their big rival Wisconsin Badgers in a two-game series in Minneapolis, Seth Ambroz’s four goal weekend has earned him the honor of the First Star this week in the Big Ten.
Leading all Division I skaters, the four tallies for the New Prague, Minnesota native in the series which saw a combined twelve goals scored. Minnesota knocked off Wisconsin 4-1 on Friday night before knocking off the Badgers 4-3 on Saturday.
Ambroz has six goals in his last four games versus Wisconsin, and has twelve points on the season so far. In ninety-three career games as a Gopher, Ambroz has thirty-six points on twenty-one goals and fifteen assists (21-15-36).
Minnesota will see another Big Ten foe this weekend when the Gophers travel to East Lansing, MI to take on the Michigan State Spartans. Friday’s 6pm CT tilt will be carried by FOX Sports North PLUS and BTN2Go.com while Saturday’s 3pm contest will be on FOX Sports North and BTN2Go.com.
