The two major polls will start to be looked at with great interest from here on out with just four weeks left to go in the regular season. The Gophers have been the consensus number one from the start, but who will step up to be second? Boston College will take over that spot after a rough weekend for Harvard, who was the second ranked team. Harvard lost to Clarkson and had to go to overtime with St. Lawrence to get a win and that was enough to drop them to 3/4.
Wisconsin did not drop after being swept at home by Minnesota. They will stay at seven, just ahead of fellow WCHA teams North Dakota and Minnesota-Duluth. UMD was able to crack the top ten again by putting together a nice 10 game unbeaten streak.
Mercyhurst is another team that keeps falling and might fall even further since losing to Cornell, 4-0, on Tuesday night. They are currently seventh.
Ohio State did not even get a vote after being swept by UMD. Northeastern is now the one team on the outside looking in.
