University of Minnesota wrestling defeated Big Ten opponent University of Nebraska, 26-7, before a crowd of 3,663 at the Sports Pavilion in Minneapolis Sunday afternoon.
With the win, the Golden Gophers share the unofficial Big Ten dual-meet title with Penn State, as both programs finish with 7-1 records in conference competition.
Minnesota won eight of ten bouts, getting consecutive major-decision wins from Zach Sanders and Chris Dardanes at 125 and 133 pounds. Arguably the most exciting match for the home crowd was at 184, when Kevin Steinhaus scored a takedown in the last seconds to score a come-from-behind win against Josh Ihnen.
Nebraska's two wins bracketed the dual meet, coming in the first and last match of the afternoon, with James Green getting a major decision at 157.
Minnesota is now 10-3 for the season overall, while Nebraska is 14-3, and 5-3 in its first year in the Big Ten.
