High School: Theodore

Hometown: Theodore, Ala.

Position: Tight End

Height: 6-3

Weight: 220

My Assessment: He is a versatile athlete with a big frame. He played both receiver and running back in high school. He is very quick and athletic. He can make the tough catch in traffic and sometimes will make the easy catch look more difficult than it is downfield. He is dangerous with the ball in his hands. He will be a matchup problem for linebackers and defensive backs.

Overview: ESPN lists him as a three-star recruit, 19th best tight end/H-back recruit in the country and the No. 29 player in Alabama - 247Sports ranks him as a three-star prospect, the 47th-best player in Alabama and the No. 61 tight end in the nation - received two-star rating from Scout and Rivals.

ESPN Analysis: Has the height, athleticism, strength and playing speed for the tight end / “H” position - matches his playing strength with defensive ends when single blocking - has quickness when releasing off the line and in space - foot quickness, elusiveness along with a smooth stride allows him to rip off big chunks of yardage after the catch - has the athleticism and body control to leap and make receptions - shows a willingness to compete for balls in traffic - tough customer who comes off the ball aggressively with the pad level, blocking base and leg drive needed to gain and sustain an immediate advantage when single blocking - strong finisher who can only get better - good toughness.

High School: Attends Theodore High School - rushed the ball 77 times for 509 yards, while also catching 18 passes for 280 yards and seven touchdowns - also passed for three touchdowns as a senior - notched 18 tackles on defense including five sacks - broke up two passes, caused three fumbles and also recovered one fumble - coached by Eric Collier.
