My Assessment: He plays very well in traffic or space. He is very good at disengaging from a blocker at the right moment. He is a wrap-up tackler with good technique and drive upon contact. Ball carriers do not fall forward he hits them. He has the potential to be a difference maker for the Gophers’ defense.

Overview: ESPN and 247Sports list him as a three-star recruit, while Rivals and Scout gave him two stars - 247Sports ranks him as the No. 119 outside linebacker in the nation and as the 238th best prospect in Texas - ESPN tabs him as the No. 141 linebacker in the country and as the 229th best recruit in Texas.

ESPN Analysis: Ability to play in the open space as well as in the confined areas - can stand up or put his hand on the ground - demonstrated he could run and score a touchdown or two from the defensive side - solid athlete.

High School: Attends Mansfield Legacy High School - Broncos finished 10-3 in 2013, setting a school record for wins in a season - named to First Team Defense on the Star-Telegram 2013 Football Super Team - named to the Associated Press 4A All-State Team - made 74 tackles and notched 11 sacks as a senior - recovered three fumbles, all for touchdowns, and returned an interception for a touchdown - caught two passes on the season, one of which was a six-yard score - blocked two field goals - coached by Chris Melson.
