Minnesota Golden Gopher football recruiting report; K Ryan Santoso

Minnesota Golden Gopher head coach Jerry Kill wants guys with the right the character, attitude and passion. He also wants good football players that fit his system.

The Minnesota Golden Gopher football team signed 19 players on National Signing Day that the coaching staff hopes will fit those traits over their remaining eligibility.

Here is one of those recruits; kicker Ryan Santoso.

High School: Pace (Fla.)

Hometown: Pace, Fla.

Height: 6-5

Weight: 260

My analysis: Very limited viewing - on his highlight video from gophersports.com, he displayed high arcing field goal kicks with good distance - also booted a kickoff through the end zone.

ESPN's analysis: Biggest elite kicker/punter at any level of football - field goals off the ground are clean and repeatable - soft spoken giant with a hunger to reach his potential - has great skills to work with and should be successful early in his college career.

GopherSports.com Overview: Rivals lists him as a two-star recruit and the 15th best kicker in the nation - ESPN ranks him as the seventh best kicker in the nation and the 129th best player in Florida - won the National Scholarship Camp's kick off competition by beating out more than 400 competitors - also beat out Harrison Butker in the final round sudden death field goal contest for the last spot in the recent Under Armour All-American game (connected on a 45-yard field goal in game) - Attended Pace High School and helped lead the Patriots to a 7-4-0 record as a senior - connected on 14 of 17 field goals with his longest being 42 yards - was 29-for-29 in point-after attempts • scored 71 points - averaged 39.26 yards on 35 punts - coached by Mickey Lindsey.
