Minnesota DNR seeks volunteers for Arbor Day Seedling Program

See also

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is seeking help on Wednesday April 18th, from 9:00 a.m. until roughly 3:00 p.m. to get prepared for seedling distribution that will occur on Arbor Day.

Duties vary from sorting, counting, and packing nearly 25,000 seedlings that will be distributed to local schools, communities, and other non-profit organizations, which will be planting the seedlings on Arbor Day. Arbor day falls on April 27th this year.

The seedlings will be separated by species and counted according to each order, so that they are available for pick up the following day.

The job is dirty so DNR staff remind volunteers to please remember to wear the appropriate apparel such as gloves, hats, and other clothing that can get messy.

Lunch will be provided, but breaks will most likely be limited, due to the time necessary to get tasks accomplished.
