Facebook has become the lifeblood for many people today, gasping for air if the website is ever temporarily down. Well facebook fanatics, Wade Gerten, Founder and CEO of the Minneapolis company Alvenda, is handing you an oxygen mask by enhancing your online experience.

You will now be able to shop from inside banner ads and even Facebook status updates. Gerten created Alvenda (pigdin Latin for "everybody sells") based on the knowledge that if customers don't have to leave the site where a retailer's ad appears, they are 10 to 20 percent more likely to shop.

By turning Facebook fan pages into digital retail stores, Alvenda has a portfolio of clients that include 1-800-Flowers, Brooks Brothers, Delta, and Hallmark. Alvenda also gained recognition locally in 2009 by winning the Minnesota Cup competition for emerging entrepreneurs.

The local Minnesotan, who has developed a service that allows people to "socially shop" plans to expand its business by adding magazine subscriptions in the future.
