Minnesota comics panel, May 12, 2011!

This Friday, May 12, DreamHaven Comics--one of the premiere comics shops in the Twin Cities, though I admit the competition is a little thin on the ground--will be hosting a panel about (and partly consisting of) Minnesota comics creators. This panel is part of the Speculations readings series.

The panel will be moderated by Melissa Kaercher, multimedia artist and comics letterer and colorist. The panel itself will consist of three very bright stars in the Minnesota comics night sky. (Did that metaphor stretch too far? I can never tell.) Britt Aamodt is the author of Superheroes, Strip Artists & Talking Animals: Minnesota's Contemporary Cartoonists and an expert on Minnesota comickers. Peter Gross has worked on some of the biggest titles at DC's Vertigo imprint, including Lucifer, Books of Magic, and the currently-running The Unwritten. And Zander Cannon is half of Big Time Attic and co-artist most recently of Evolution: the Story of Life on Earth.

The panel will take place from 6:30 to 9:30 Friday night, and if you needed even more incentive to go, there'll be free soda and cookies.
