Minnesota gets back into Big Ten conference action this weekend with a two-game set in Minneapolis at Mariucci Arena versus Michigan State. Friday's game is scheduled for an 8pm start on BTN while Saturday's 7pm tilt is on FOX Sports North PLUS. Let’s hit you with some numbers.
1: Minnesota’s Adam Wilcox was the only Gopher to be honored by the Big Ten this week, earning the Third Star.
141: Minnesota’s Nate Condon has skated in one hundred forty-one straight games for the Gophers. He’s only missed one game with the program—October 9, 2010 (UMass)—the first game of his freshman season.
4: Minnesota’s Seth Ambroz has four empty-net goals on the season including his goal versus St. Cloud State from Friday at the North Star Cup.
104: Minnesota leads the all-time series versus Michigan State by a 104-43-13 tally. That includes 4-2-4 in the last ten games.
84: In the two game series that these two teams played in East Lansing, Minnesota had a combined eighty-four shots on goal for both games compared to fifty-four for Michigan State.
5: Christian Isackson is without a goal in his last five games played, since scoring versus the Spartans on Dec. 7th.
5: This season, Minnesota has five wins in each of the months of October, November, and January. There were only two games in December versus Michigan State where Minnesota tied and won.
2: In the last four games of this series at Mariucci Arena in Minneapolis, Minnesota is 2-1-1. In the two wins from October 2012, Minnesota outscored Michigan State 12-2.
