Minneapolis-based CSM Corp. announced Tuesday it will build an $18.3 million, 125-room Hyatt Place hotel in Lansing Township, Mich., adjacent to the Eastwood Towne Center shopping mall.

Subsidiary CSM Lodging said construction on the new Hyatt Place Lansing Eastwood is expected to start this month April with a targeted opening of Spring 2015. It will be located at the Lake Lansing Road-U.S. Hwy. 127 interchange.

Bill Upshaw, the president of CSM Lodging, said in a statement 125-unit luxury apartment building and 100,000 square feet of retail will also be built as part of the project, to be called the Heights at Eastwood.

The Minneapolis company is teaming with development and management firm MDG Development Group on the effort.

“Our joint venture with MDG Development allows CSM to continue to grow our third party management platform," Upshaw said. "CSM is also excited to develop our first Hyatt-branded hotel, and we look forward to furthering our relationship with the Hyatt family of brands.”
