Nothing to do this Halloween weekend? All of your friends have ditched you, and now you're the last person on Earth without a costume and a party to go to. Well fret not, for the solution isn't far. In fact, it's right on Main street in beautiful Santa Monica. O'briens Pub has a weekend full of live music planned just for you. Minibar is kicking things off on Friday night, followed by The Paul Chesne Band's Bad Ass Costume Party on Saturday night.

If you haven't had the chance to catch Minibar yet, then this should be the weekend. Reminicent of Wilco, and citing such influences as Teenage Fanclub, and My Morning Jacket, Minibar has a knack for the understated. The lead singer, Simon Petty sounds like a cross between Paul Westerberg and Jacob Dylan, so if you like either of these two singers, you will definitely love Minibar. Make sure to chek out Minibar this Friday night.

On Saturday night Paul Chesne Band will be hosting their Bad Ass Costume party. The Paul Chesne Band is a local act who while decidedly Americana, have a strong Southern Rock influence as well. Definitely some George Thorogood influence in there, as well as some Allman brothers.( A side note -  while they don't sound anything like Modest Mouse, Paul Chesne does at times sound remarkably similar to Isaac Brock.) So if you're a fan of Southern Blues Rock, then grab a costume and check out Paul Chesne's Bad Ass Costume Party this Saturday night at O'briens Pub at 2941 Main St., Santa Monica.
