Hit by a car in 2012, Olivia was rescued from one of the highest kill shelters in Southern California. Emaciated and afraid she had been transported into Arizona to begin rehabilitation. Fifteen months of continual vetting, Furry Angels Rescue and Safe Haven decided to place Olivia up for adoption. Patiently they waited and finally a family had stepped up, knowing she had a lame leg due to her pelvic being broken when she had been hit by a vehicle in San Bernardino, California.
On September 20th, 2013 transport had been arranged and she was finally going to her new family in Corona., California. Little did anyone know that in the wee hours of September 21st she would slip from her new family out of their arms, disappearing into the darkness? They had been up all night for several days and had seen her a few times; but each time she would run from them, which is common for a dog that is not familiar with their surroundings.
Placed on Pet Harbor, Flealess, and Craigslist and with the assistance of the rescue they were able to notify all of the shelters that they were missing a sweet little girl named Olivia. Every animal hospital had been contacted and fliers were posted; but not a single response. Oddly they believe that someone in Corona or the surrounding areas has their miniature pinscher with a lame leg. Others may also believe she could possibly be a Manchester terrier, due to her approximate size. Olivia weighs approximately 15 pounds, has a docked tail and her ears stand up completely. Her colors are very prominent a solid black and tan with white at the end of her paws. She loves to roll on her back and have her belly rubbed and can run very quickly when she is startled.
If anyone has seen Olivia or has her currently in their home, a response to the rescue would be greatly appreciated. She is micro-chipped and not only is the new owner’s devastated that they lost their new friend; but the rescue will continue to search for her until she is found.
