There's lots of baseless speculation floating around on the release of Minecraft: Xbox One Edition. (Microsoft)

A number of articles have been floating around that are nothing but baseless speculation on when Minecraft: Xbox One Edition and Minecraft: Playstation 4 Edition might be released. 4J Studios made clear Thursday though that the release of TU14 to the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the popular sandbox game does not mean that the release of the next-gen console versions are right around the corner.

"Still a lot to be done, but we're getting there," 4J Studios said when asked how much work remained on Minecraft: Xbox One Edition.

For reference, the developer made a similar statement about TU14 on February 7 and the update was not released until the last two days. Given Microsoft's relationship with 4J Studios, it is a safe bet that Minecraft PS3 Edition will be released the same day or just after the Xbox One Edition.

The release of the next-gen console version of Minecraft is a hot topic and we can only caution readers to stay away from articles that are baseless speculation with keywords in the subject heading solely meant to entice you to click.
