The development team behind "Minecraft Xbox One Edition" has further detailed how save transfer will work in the upcoming port. According to an update from the official 4J Studios Twitter page on June 26, a representative from the company showed off how the process functions on the next-generation console version. The transfer apparently takes place through some sort of online procedure.

The off-screen image shows a save file being transported from "Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition" to "Minecraft Xbox One Edition." Players on the Xbox One will be able to download the file, which takes up around 30 MB in space in this particular scenario. The photo also contained a small Easter Egg for fans of the video game as a message asking who "Notch" is can be seen below the progress meter.

"Minecraft" was created by Markus Persson, the co-founder of Mojang. He also goes by the alias of "Notch." His creation went on to become one of the best-selling games of all time with close to 54 million copies sold so far. At last reported, "Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition" was able to sell 12 million units alone on digital and physical formats.

Along with the save transfer, Mojang is also offering a limited-time deal where existing owners of the Xbox 360 version of the video game can purchase "Minecraft Xbox One Edition" for just $4.99. The same video game can be purchased with a normal price tag of $19.99. You can find a screen of the aforementioned transfer process near the top of this article.

A representative at Mojang has already confirmed on the company's official website that the same save import feature will be made available for "Minecraft PS3 Edition," "Minecraft PS4 Edition" and "Minecraft Vita Edition." However, the studio did mention that transferring worlds from the next-generation console version to the current-generation console iteration is not technically possible due to differences in world sizes.

"Minecraft Xbox One Edition" will be released in Aug. later this year in multiple regions. "Minecraft PS4 Edition" and "Minecraft Vita Edition" are due to come out in the same month as well. All three ports are being developed at 4J Studios, the same team that is also responsible for the PS3 and Xbox 360 editions. Reserve the PS4 and Vita versions from in the next link: "Minecraft."
