'Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition' to go urban with new texture pack this week

Microsoft and 4J Studios announced Wednesday that a new texture pack for Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition will arrive at the end of this week to give the game a more big city feel.

The City Texture Pack will be released Friday, March 7 to the Xbox Store for $1 and features new textures that, as their name suggests, gives the game the look and feel of the city.

"A creative texture set, ideal for building structures," Microsoft wrote on the PlayXBLA site. "Free your inner architect and shape the world around you. The perfect set for the focused builder!"

4J Studios previewed the City Texture Pack nearly three weeks ago with a replicate of a building being planned for Dundee, Scotland.

There's no word on when this texture pack might make it to Minecraft: PS3 Edition. Additionally, there are no details on when Title Update 14 (TU14) might be released. At this point, it will be an end of March release at best but seems likely to slip into April.
