4J Studios is currently at work developing Title Update 14 for Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition and have now provided hints as to what fans can look forward to seeing in the upcoming patch. The developer revealed on Jan 13 that the upcoming update will include elements which were introduced in patch 1.3.1 of the PC version of the popular block building game. This means that Adventure mode is finally coming to the console versions of Minecraft.

Adventure mode gives Minecraft fans a completely new way to experience the game. In the new game type, players can no longer build or place objects. Instead they can only interact with the environment and NPCs while completing quest-like objectives. As they adventure, fans will earn a new form of currency in the form of emeralds which they can use to trade with NPC villagers throughout the game world. Emeralds can also be used to acquire enchantments from townsfolk. Title Update 14 is also expected to include additional changes from more recent PC patch versions but 4J Studios isn’t yet revealing what the extra additions might be.

Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition is out now in stores and as a digital download via Xbox Live. 4J Studios has now moved on to focus more on releasing Title Update 14 after submitting a new patch for certification for the recent PS3 launch of the game. Title Update 14 will also likely release for Minecraft: PS3 Edition, but there has been no work whether the platforms will receive the update at the same time or not.
