4J Studios continues to find success with the immensely popular Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition after it was recently revealed that the version of the game for the Microsoft console has now sold over 12 million units. Naturally, the developer has plans to push the sandbox title forward but releasing more content in the future. In fact, as announced by Xbox Wire on April 4, the next DLC for the Xbox 360 edition of Minecraft has now officially received a release date.
The Candy Texture Pack will become available for download on the Xbox 360 on April 18. Like all texture pack add-ons, the forthcoming DLC will allow fans to change the in-game characters of every block and NPC character within the game world. With the Candy Texture Pack, gamers will be able to alter Minecraft to look like it is made entirely out of sugary treats.
Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition is now available to download via Xbox Live Arcade. While 4J Studios also released a version of the hit game on PS3 last December, it is currently unknown if the Candy Texture Pack will eventually release on the Sony platform at a later date. All that is known at this time is that the new texture pack will launch only for Xbox 360 on April 18.
