Another DLC expansion has been revealed for "Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition" and "Minecraft Xbox One Edition." According to a report from The Fuse Joplin on July 31, Ben Morse confirmed that the open-world sandbox video game is getting new skins on the two platforms from Microsoft Studios. The new pack is based on the "Guardians of the Galaxy" movie.
The DLC includes all the major characters from the superhero team: Drax the Destroyer, Gamora, G-Root, Rocket and Star-Lord. Despite not being as big as the other members, Rocket has been scaled up to the same size as the other humanoid characters. On the other end of the spectrum, G-Root got shrunk down.
A release date has not yet been announced for the "Guardians of the Galaxy" DLC pack. Similar to most of the other expansions, players will be able to buy the upcoming skins for both the "Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition" and "Minecraft Xbox One Edition." Only a few packs won't be using the cross-compatibility feature due to licensing issues.
It is unknown if the "Guardians of the Galaxy" DLC would be coming to the PS3, PS4 and Vita versions as well. The development team has been more deliberate when it comes to adding more contents on the PS3 as opposed to the Xbox 360 in the past. Although more expansions should be coming for "Minecraft PS3 Edition," a patch will need to be implemented first.
The studio is currently trying to complete the development of "Minecraft PS4 Edition," "Minecraft Vita Edition" and "Minecraft Xbox One Edition." All three upcoming ports are slated to arrive later this month although Mojang has not yet announced more specific release dates. A recent report suggested that the release on the handheld game, along with the next-generation versions, could be pushed back until the month of Sept.
