A status update has been provided in regards to the next mash-up pack DLC for "Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition" and "Minecraft PS3 Edition." According to a conversation from the company's official Twitter page on April 30, a fan asked 4J Studios if another mash-up expansion will be coming out. The development team previously released the "Mass Effect" and "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" packs for the Xbox 360 port last year.
According to a spokesperson, the art department at 4J Studios is currently working on a new DLC. He also teased that it is "looking good." The mash-up packs were implemented into "Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition" with the TU12 patch and should already be a part of "Minecraft PS3 Edition." The special expansions are designed to change the look of the open-world sandbox video game with new skins, music tracks, textures, user interfaces along with a themed world.
The "Mass Effect" mash-up pack was released for "Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition" on Sept. 4, 2013, while "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" version came out for the same version later in the same year on Nov. 20. Since then, the development team at 4J Studios has been concentrating on releasing patches for the Xbox 360 port as well as "Minecraft PS3 Edition," which came out last year on Dec. 17. According to Playstation Lifestyle, the 1.06 title update for the PS3 version will add support for new DLC expansions such as Candy Texture Pack and Nature Texture Pack.
The studio is also working on "Minecraft PS4 Edition," "Minecraft Vita Edition" and "Minecraft Xbox One Edition" concurrently. The upcoming ports for the Playstation platforms are scheduled to arrive before the end of Sept. this year. Although the launch window has not yet been announced for the Xbox 360 version, Microsoft recently hinted that Mojang, the original developer of "Minecraft," will be announcing something in the near future.
The release dates have not yet been announced for the "Minecraft PS3 Edition" 1.06 patch and the new mash-up pack. You can find a screen showcasing the aforesaid Candy Texture Pack in "Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition" from the same 4J Studios Twitter page with the image located to the top of this article. The two console versions have combined to sell more than 13 million copies so far at digital stores and through physical retailers. The disc version for the PS3 port is also being released later this month in North America.
