4J Studios revealed that they are currently at work on the first skin pack add-on for the Playstation 3 version of Minecraft. The developer confirmed on Feb 7 that, like the many of the DLC skins that have been added to the Xbox 360 edition of the game in the past, Skin Pack 1 on the PS3 will feature avatar skins based off exclusive Sony characters.

We're currently going through the approvals process for each of the Sony brands we have in Skin Pack 1 for PS3.

Additionally, 4J Studios announced that they hoped to launch the upcoming add-on before the release of Title Update 14 which will bring Adventure Mode to console versions of Minecraft.

Previous skin pack releases for Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition introduced Microsoft exclusive characters, from franchises like Halo, to the popular block building title. Sony has their fair share of popular figures which might be introduced to Minecraft such as characters from Uncharted, inFamous, and The Last of Us.

Minecraft: PS3 Edition released at the end of last year and is currently available as a digital-only download via the PS Store. Next-gen versions of the popular title are also currently in development for both the Playstation 4 and Xbox One. 4J studios recently teased the PS4 edition of Minecraft by showing a screenshot of the upcoming release next to a similar screen from currently available PS3 version.
