Microsoft began rolling out Title Update 15 (TU15) for Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition on the morning of Thursday, April 10. The update is the first of two bug fix updates following the release of TU14 at the end of March. However, the update to Minecraft: Playstation 3 Edition is still waiting in the wings.
"We'll let you know when #MinecraftPS3 Patch 1.05/TU15 passes Sony's testing. Hopefully not long," the developer said. The latest date to expect the PS3 Edition patch is Wednesday, April 16 as that marks exactly two weeks from when it was submitted to certification.
Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition suffered from a couple of platform specific bugs including an issue that arose with using the chatpad that attaches to the controller and accessing the Anvil interface in the game. Multiple audio issues arose as well such as defective sounds in splitscreen, bad Enderdragon sounds and general issues with unsynchronized audio.
Of course, there are multiple issues with the world and mobs as well. For the world, blocks reappearing after being mined and chunks of the world loading slower than normal have been addressed. For the mobs, Zombies will now drop Carrots, Potatoes or Iron Ingots; and Chickens, Wolves & Mooshrooms spawning problems have been fixed as well.
Problems with the new teleporting feature that cropped up while riding pigs and invisibility issues have been fixed. Bonus chests can now appear in pre-TU14 worlds as well.
You can check out the full list of fixes included in Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition Title Update 15 over at MinecraftForum.net. 4J Studios has stated that TU16 will likely be another bug fix update before another update is released to add new features to the game. Expect the Xbox One Edition and PS4 Edition to be released before that time.
