4J Studios gave an update Friday on the release of Title Update 14 (TU14) for Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition and Playstation 3 Edition as well as some Playstation specific character skins and a not so veiled shot at King Entertainment's attempt to trademark the words that make up Candy Crush Saga.

Don't expect the release of TU14 to Minecraft: Xbox 360 Editon or PS3 Edition anytime soon. "Still lots to do before TU14 is ready for Cert testing," 4J Studios revealed on Twitter.

Certification testing typically takes one to two weeks though the size of the updates in TU14 likely means it will push the maximum amount of time to go through Microsoft's and Sony's approval process. So, a February currently looks out of the question.

The developer did confirm that the Creative mode inventory menu will be changing slightly though it won't announce how just yet. The studio wants to get to the point that it is happy with the new interface before sharing with the world.

Finally, 4J Studios confirmed that skin pack for Playstation 3 exclusive character is in the works with along with them currently being in the middle of the approval process for what characters will appear. There's also a new texture pack incoming that will sweeten up Minecraft for consoles a little.

"Yes, our art team is working on some," 4J Studios said when asked if new texture packs are coming. "One is a confectionery type one. We think Candy Saga Texture Pack is a good name for it ;)"

Minecraft is coming to the PS4, Xbox One and PS Vita as well though no release date has been announced.
