Fans of 4J Studios’ console versions of Minecraft on the Xbox 360 and PS3 may have just received Title Update 14 last week, but the developer announced on April 2 that they have already finished work on Title Update 15 and have now submitted the next update to both Microsoft and Sony to undergo certification testing.
The reason that TU15 is already finished is that the update doesn’t actually add new content but instead simply addresses issues that were introduced with the release of Title update 14. The patch fixes bugs that caused previously mined blocks to reappear as well as improving load speeds. More than a dozen other fixes are also being applied. The Xbox 360 changelog and PS3 patchnotes are now available for viewing.
Certification testing is the final stage that content must pass before being allowed to release on either Xbox Live or the Playstation Network. Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition is now available both in stores and via Xbox Live Arcade. A PS3 version of the game also launched last December and is available only as a digital download from the PS Store.
