After Title Update 15 released on the Xbox 360 edition of Minecraft last week, PS3 owners have been waiting for the patch to become available for Minecraft: PS3 Edition. Unfortunately, the launch of the update on the Sony console was delayed due to a certification test which took longer for the PS3 version for unknown reasons. However, the wait is now over after developer 4J Studios announced in the evening of April 15 that Patch 1.05 is now available to download on the Playstation 3.

Patch 1.05 is the official name for TU15 on Minecraft: PS3 Edition. Unlike Title Update 14, which brought new features to the popular building game such as Adventure Mode, yesterday’s patch release only implemented a number of bug fixes. This is the reason that there was such a short turnaround time between TU14 and Patch 1.05.

4J Studios revealed the full change log for Title Update 15 earlier this month when the developer first submitted the content to both Microsoft and Sony for certification. The update fixes issues that some players were experiencing with voice chat and other audio issues that resulted from playing in splitscreen mode. Other improvements corrected bugs which resulted in disappearing blocks as well as a full change to what Zombie’s can drop as rare loot.

With Title Update 15 now out on both PS3 and Xbox 360, 4J Studios has moved on to begin work on TU16. The developer hasn’t said what will be added to the console versions of Minecraft in the upcoming patch, but they have confirmed that the Candy Texture Pack will release at the same time as the next update.

Additionally, it has also been announced that Minecraft: PS3 Edition will be getting a physical retail disc release next month. Besides continuing to update the current versions of Minecraft, 4J Studios is also currently developing new versions of the sandbox title to launch on the Xbox One and PS4.
