‘Minecraft’ sales revealed prior to PS3, PS4, Vita and Xbox One releases

The creators behind “Minecraft” and “Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition” has revealed several sales milestone. According to a message from his personal Twitter page on Dec. 13, Markus Persson confirmed that the original version of the open-world sandbox video game has now sold more than 13 million copies. The founder of Mojang was really impressed with the success of his video game. You can find his comment below:

“Minecraft” came out for the PC along with multiple operating systems on Nov. 18, 2011. The open-world sandbox video game centers around acquiring blocks and building just about anything you like.

The original version was ported to other platforms, the biggest of which was the Xbox 360. “Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition” was originally released on May 9, 2012 as a download-only game on the Xbox Live Arcade. It was also distributed through retail disc starting on June 4th of this year. According to a spokesperson from 4J Studios, the console port sold 10 million copies so far. The sales for the “Minecraft” franchise will be boosted even higher with the looming release of the PS3, PS4, Playstation Vita and Xbox One editions. The aforesaid 4J Studios development team is responsible for the upcoming console ports of the open-world sandbox video game.
