The next-gen versions of 4J Studios’ console editions of Minecraft were originally expected to launch with the Xbox One and PS4, but their release has since been delayed to an unknown date. According to a report by Fuse Joplin on March 24, the coming release of Title Update 14 for Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition could help to usher the popular block building game on Xbox One and PS4.
It was revealed that TU14 will supposedly introduce the same algorithm to console editions of Minecraft that is currently used on the PC version of the game. Not only will that allow 4J Studios to bring features from PC builds to home consoles at a faster rate, it also means that the game will be easier to port the game to the Xbox One and PS4.
Title Update 14 has been submitted to Microsoft for certification and will be available to download as soon as it passes the testing process. Meanwhile Update 1.04 for Minecraft: PS3 Edition, which has all of the content of TU14, has also been submitted to Sony to undergo similar cert testing. Once the update becomes available on both Xbox Live and the Playstation Network, console fans will finally be able to play the sandbox title in Adventure Mode.
