A few days ago, Mojang revealed a new feature that would be implemented into “Minecraft” that will allow players to the enable certain functions within the game based on the day and night cycle within the game world. Yesterday, Mojang officially brought this new feature into “Minecraft” with the release of Snapshot 13w01a. In addition to the Daylight Detector block, Mojang also added a a few new features to the game, which include the Redstone Comparator block and the Hopper block.

Redstones circuits are more consistent and pistons should be more stable
Added the Redstone Comparator block (this replaces the Capacitor we talked about at Minecon)
Added the Daylight Detector block
Added a Hopper block (still work in progress)
Added a chest that activates redstone
Added weighted pressure plates that detect item stacks
Added Block of Redstone block (works as a pushable redstone torch)
Added a new ore to the Nether
Added a Nether Brick item for crafting Nether Brick blocks
A whole bunch of other stuff… Try for instance double-clicking items, or drag-placing them, in the inventory
Mojang also released another snapshot update for ”Minecraft” this morning. With the help of this update, Mojang has provided users a host of fixes for various issues that have been creating issues for players.
