4J Studios posted new updates regarding the future ports of “Minecraft.” According to a report from the Game & Guide website on Dec. 27, the development team disclosed that the company is currently on Christmas break.
4J Studios promised that the development will continue for “Minecraft: PS4 Edition,” “Minecraft: Vita Edition” and “Minecraft: Xbox One Edition” next year when the employees return to work. Furthermore, “Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition” and “Minecraft: PS3 Edition” will also be updated. You can find a set of screens from the two console ports on “Minecraft” that are currently on the market in the slideshow to the left of this article and the statement below:
We'll be back in 2014 to continue work on #MinecraftXBLA, #MinecraftPS3, #MinecraftXbox1, #MinecraftPS4 and #MinecraftPSVita.
4J Studios managed to complete the development of “Minecraft: PS3 Edition” right before Christmas. The Playstation 3 port was released on Dec. 17 while a new patch for the downloadable title, which addressed several launch issues, came out just days before the company’s holiday break.
Despite being announced at around the same time, “Minecraft: PS4 Edition” and “Minecraft: Vita Edition” got pushed back. “Minecraft: Xbox One Edition” also got delayed while the rumored “Minecraft: Wii U Edition” is expected to come out in the summer season of next year.
4J Studios should have a very busy, but ultimately financially successful, year in 2014 with many new projects and updates being planned for the console ports of “Minecraft.”
