A 4J Studios representative has discussed to possibility of being able to resize worlds in "Minecraft PS4 Edition" and "Minecraft Xbox One Edition." According to a report from The Epoch Times on July 24, a fan asked the development team if the worlds transferred from the PS3, Vita and Xbox 360 games can be expanded in the next-generation ports. The PS4 and Xbox One version will feature bigger world sizes that can end up being 32 times larger than the ones found in the other console games.

The representative responded by confirming that the feature is being worked on. Players will be able to use the "Resize Save" option in order to increase the size of the world that imported from "Minecraft PS3 Edition," "Minecraft Vita Edition" and "Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition." However, he also cautioned that it may not be made available at launch. Instead, the 4J Studios may have to release a patch in order to add the feature.

Along with the ability to import saves and the bigger world sizes, the next-generation versions also come with improved visuals as players should be able to see much farther than ever before. Both "Minecraft PS4 Edition" and "Minecraft Xbox One Edition" are aiming to render at the native 1080p resolution as well. Finally, the development team is thinking about expanding multiplayer support for more than eight players online with another potential title update after complaints from fans.

Existing players are going to be provided a discount if they want to upgrade to the next-generation version. Owners of the PS3 and Vita copies can buy the PS4 version for just $4.99 as opposed to the standard $19.99 price tag. The same deal is also being made available for Xbox 360 players when upgrading to the Xbox One game.
