The “Minecraft PS4 Edition” and “Minecraft Xbox One Edition” release date have been further discussed. According to a report from The Fuse Joplin on March 23, 4J Studios should put more resources towards the next-generation version of the open-world sandbox title after sending the TU14 patch to Microsoft Studios and Sony Computer Entertainment for certification testing.
The aforementioned title update adds an abundance of new features to the PS3 and Xbox 360 iterations. 4J Studios previously stated that their priority will shift towards the next-generation ports after patching the current-generation versions.
The Fuse Joplin also believed that “Minecraft Xbox One Edition” would be coming out before “Minecraft PS4 Edition.” The website pointed out that it will be easier to port the software product to Microsoft’s new console as it uses the same X86 architecture utilized by the Windows operating system on PC.
The Xbox One version was also announced several months in advance of the PS4 port. Furthermore, the development team has been releasing more DLC packs for “Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition” as opposed to “Minecraft PS3 Edition,” suggesting that the studio may be somewhat favoring Microsoft’s platforms.
The “Minecraft” TU14 patch should be made available after passing the certification process. The release date window for both the PS4 and Xbox One ports have not been revealed.
