‘Minecraft: PS3 Edition’ gameplay tips from Mojang

Now that the 4J Studios developed console version of Minecraft has finally released on the Playstation 3, franchise owner Mojang is offering tips to PS3 owners who may be completely new to the series. In a post from the official Playstation blog on Friday, Mojang’s Owen Hill shared a few basic suggestions to help newcomers enjoy the creative sandbox building title.

For those who have ever played Minecraft before, these tips will likely be tactics that they have figured out themselves long ago. The ten gameplay suggestions include details on how to safely excavate earthen blocks, such as being sure not to dig either straight down or straight up. As long-time Minecraft players can attest, discovering lava while failing to listen to these tips could be fatal as the molten rock will either fall directly onto fans’ in-game avatars or end up under their feet. Like Minecraft: 360 Edition before it, the PS3 version of the popular block building title was developed by 4J Studios.
