The company behind “Minecraft PS3 Edition” posted several new updates regarding the future DLC releases. According to a message from the official 4J Studios Twitter page on March 6, the company mentioned that the development team is currently working with Mojang and Sony Computer Entertainment to release new skin and texture packs to the PS3 version of “Minecraft.”
Mojang is the original developer for the open-world sandbox video game while Sony Computer Entertainment is the console manufacturer behind the current-generation console. 4J Studios promised to share more news in the future in regards to the DLC situation with “Minecraft PS3 Edition.” You can find some screens from several DLC packs made for “Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition” in the slideshow to the left of this article and the updates from the development team below:
We're working with Sony & Mojang to bring texture packs and skin packs to #MinecraftPS3. We'll give you news when we can!
“Minecraft PS3 Edition” has only received the Festive Skin Pack DLC since being released in late 2013. 4J Studios did hint previously that they are working with Sony Computer Entertainment to include the company’s mascots in a future expansion. However, it appears that the development team is not quite ready to release the new packs just yet.
The same studio is also responsible for the TU14 patch in “Minecraft PS3 Edition” and “Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition” along with the looming releases of “Minecraft PS4 Edition,” “Minecraft Vita Edition” and “Minecraft Xbox One Edition.”
