Mojang announced Monday that pre-paid gift cards for Minecraft on the PC are hitting major retailers in the United States.

The Minecraft gift cards cover the $26.95 price of the game and should be showing up at the likes of Best Buy, Target and Walmart today. Once purchased or received as a gift, you'll just need to go to to redeem the code that comes on the card with your new or existing account.

With the popularity of Minecraft, the gift card should make it easier for those that don't have the ability to pay online such as teenagers without a debit card. It should also make a nice stocking stuffer for the holidays.

Mojang hasn't announced any details about releasing gift cards for Minecraft in other countries but it is expected to happen at some point.

The open-world sandbox title has sold more than 7 million copies on the PC alone and 4J Studios announced Sunday that the Xbox 360 version just surpassed the 4 million mark on Xbox LIVE Arcade.
