The PC version of Minecraft keeps trucking along as Mojang announced Thursday that the sandbox game passed 10 million copies sold. It also dropped a big hint on what one of the new mobs might be in the upcoming 1.6 update.
"10 million copies sold of Minecraft PC (and mac (and linux))," Minecraft creator Markus "Notch" Persson announced via Twitter.
Lead developer Jens Bergensten followed Persson's post up with, "As promised, a subtle hint on the main 1.6 feature." He then linked to the image of a horse you see above.
Bergensten previously promised a new mob for the 1.6 update of Minecraft and this confirms that horses will be a new animal that players can ride in the game. Currently only pigs can be ridden thanks to a combination of a saddle and a carrot on a stick.
Mojang hopes to get the 1.6 update out by the end of May but there's no guarantee of that right now. The studio is known for its update release dates to slip.
