4J Studios recently surprised Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition fans by announcing that a new DLC add-on will be released for the popular sandbox title later this week. The newest content addition for the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft will be the Marvel Spider-Man Skin Pack which will give players the option to change their in-game avatar into a variety of different characters from the famed comic book franchise. Offering gamers their first look at the new player models, 4J Studios revealed the first trailer for the upcoming skin pack on April 28.

The Marvel Spider-Man Skin Pack does much more than simply give the base Minecraft player model a new skin however. As the video shows, the next DLC release also includes new 3D meshes for the avatar. For example, the Doctor Octopus skin has his robotic limbs while the symbiote Venom features his well-known long tongue.

Fans of Marvel Comic’s Spider-Man will be happy to learn that the add-on will add 35 new skins to Mincraft: Xbox 360 Edition. Each new skin will give players the opportunity to change their in-game appearance within the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft in order to look like a different Spider-Man character.

In addition to introducing several different versions of the Spider-Man costume, the new DLC will also allow players to step into the shoes of some of his greatest villains. The new add-on pack also adds new player skins based upon Rhino, J. Johan Jameson, Electro, Green Goblin, Sandman, Carnage, Lizard, Mysterio, and many more.

Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition is available now as a digital download from Xbox Live or as a physical disc from retail locations. 4J Studios is also currently working on new-gen version of Minecraft which are expected to launch later this year on Xbox One and PS4. It was finally confirmed last week that gamers will be able to transfer their existing world saves from the Xbox 360 and PS3 editions of Minecraft to the new console versions.
