As the scheduled August release for the upcoming Xbox One and Playstation 4 editions of Minecraft draws closer, 4J Studios continues to work on removing bugs from the new-gen versions of the block building creation title as the developer. Giving fans an update on July 26, the developer announced that they working through the weekend to get the new ports of the game ready to launch next month.

However, despite 4J Studios’ continued announcements that they are currently preparing Minecraft’s Xbox One and PS4 versions for release, many fans are growing increasingly impatient on the lack of a precise release date for the upcoming titles. Now that the targeted launch month of August is less than a week away, many gamers are now upset that the new-gen ports don’t have an actual date scheduled for the new Minecraft launch according to a report by Gameranx from Saturday.

Much of the confusion seems to stem from fear that the new Minecraft editions might be pushed back since fans haven’t heard any additional concrete announcements about their release dates recently. However, while 4J Studios and Mojang might not be providing an exact date for the Xbox One and PS4 versions release, it is unlikely that they wouldn’t announce a delay. With that in mind, gamers should remain fairly confident in knowing that the new Minecraft titles are currently still on track to launch next month.

Those upset over the lack of an exact release date, or those who feel that they are being kept in the dark, shouldn’t take it personally. The reason that they have only received a generalized launch window is likely due to the fact that 4J Studios themselves don’t yet know when the games will release as they are still working to rid the game known bugs at this time.

Minecraft’s upcoming Xbox One and Playstation 4 editions are still expected to release this August. Developer 4J Studios is also currently working on a handheld version to launch on the PS Vita at the same time.
