Since its initial release last December, Minecraft: PS3 Edition has managed to top sales on the Playstation Network. Continuing the trend, the official Playstation Blog released a sales chart on March 10 which verified that the PS3 version of the sandbox creation title was the number one digitally-downloaded game on the Playstation 3 for the month of February.
While more PS3 owners embrace the Sony port of Minecraft, 4J Studios is also working on bringing DLC to the Playstation 3 version of the game. The developer previously revealed their plans for Skin Pack 1 for Minecraft: PS3 Edition as they are currently in the process of meeting with controlling parties in an attempt to acquire the rights to add Sony-exclusive game characters to the game through the use of custom skins.
In addition to creating new add-on content for Minecraft, 4J Studios is also now working on Title Update 14 for Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition. The PS3 version of the game is also expected to receive a similar update which will introduce Adventure Mode to home consoles.
Minecraft: PS3 Edition is now available as a digital-only download via the PS Store. 4J Studios is also working on next-gen versions of Minecraft for release on PS4 and Xbox One.
